F1 1991 historic edition rfactor mods manual#
Not sure if it was me or the aforementioned manual shift or just my over-aggressiveness.but it might be something to ponder down the road in races. The McLaren seems to be very stable, but I ended up blowing a motor even though I was blipping the throttle (with autoclutch On) on every shift and staying out of the redline as much as possible. Got into a Monza race, driving a McLaren, with 3 others. Purolator, if you want to run some online, let me know and we'll find some tracks to slip/slide on.Įdit - Been running some online in pickup ems most people will grab either a Williams or a Ferrari, probably due to the semi-automatic transmission. They do seem to have a touch of understeer in high speed cornering, but that's with the default setups. I have no idea if the physics are even close to a 1991 F1 car, but they are fun to drive, for sure.you can catch the rear end if it breaks loose, as long as you react quickly enough. Haven't delved into the setups yet, just minor tweaks of the default creasing the brake pressure mainly as they are EXTREMELY touchy at 98% (default) and will lock the wheels up in a moment's notice. Tried the Minardi, to hear the Ferrari pared to the exhaust note of the Ferrari itself, that Minardi sound file needs some 's got some clipping in it. I ran some laps in a few of the H-shift cars and found as long as you lift to shift, they run pretty good. The Canon Williams has always been one of my favorite liveries, so I've been running it.and yes, the semi-automatic transmission is sweet in it.

But this is just open musing - for the time being, if F1 online racing for the 1991 season is in demand, I'd better recommend the older League edition.īut when it comes down to offline racing I know what I'll do for some time to come.

No need to put the drivers in skill groups by the results then, if the best wants a Williams he can have it, but if his competitor chooses a mediocre car he could actually score more points with a 3rd place. Thinking about it, the cars could be split in groups, with the Williams at the top, then the McLaren, then the Ferrari, right down until the Coloni. Voluntarily I wouldn't join a competition with the Lambo, unless an 8th place in such a weak car results in tenfold points, while the winner in his/her Williams gets only normal points for a victory. But that is a very minor criticism and the arms can be switched off anyway.ĭoes this work for online racing? Depends on the community. The only thing which the team didn't get right are the 3D arms, as these are extremely blurry and the shape looks odd. Now I really ponder about getting spacers for my G25s pedals, as I'd love to drive the Jordan in a season, but don't want to carry a millstone in the car.

Of course, an upgrade option to fit these cars with semi-downshift and full semi-auto transmission is available, but these upgrades come with a price: increased transimission friction, resulting in much slower top speed. This is also valid for the absolute top drivers here, I'd be really surprised if they can manage a full lap unless going extremely slow. Regarding the above-mentioned tests with Tyrrell and Jordan: don't try to run a non-semiauto car in the default mode with autoclutch and autoshift, it doesn't work and I virtually guarantee you won't last a lap at Imola. Haven't tried it with TrackIR yet, I assume for now the mirrors will be visible then.

A position which puts the driver a bit more to the back is available, then the mirros are visible. Historic as it was, but then the rear mirrors of the Ferraris were cut off. Also all liveries of the cars are included. I didn't bother to look at Coloni then.įurthermore, only the Williams and Ferrari cars have semi-automatic transmission, all others have to cope with manual transmission. I can say I am really impressed by the work the team did here, as they took no compromises.Īs it seems all upgrades each car got in the season is available, not surprisingly there are several for the top teams while poorer teams like Larrousse have no change at all. Other cars chosen were Tyrrell and Jordan. The Williams is not surprisingly a superior car, but in my book a tad trickier to drive. I tried both Ferraris then (642 and 643), they were much better suited for me. First attempt to fix that was putting the brake balance forward and I ended up with a value of 61 at the front. Given my experience I considered it only fair to choose the Lambo first - it worked well: ballet time! Extremely quirky to drive, I nearly always spun under braking. Now, to go do some spinning out somewhere.
